Fresh Spinach

Spinach is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet.
Not to mention it is extremely versatile and yummy!
It’s loaded with lutein (great for eyes) and many other carotenoids, which are healthful antioxidants; plus other antioxidants like coenzyme Q, in serious doses; plus several B vitamins plus C and E; plus iron and other minerals; plus betaine, a vitamin-like nutrient research suggests is good for your heart. And with almost no calories, you can eat as much as you want. Dang! More please!

Quiche

It is really easy for Quiche to be boring. It happens a lot. Sometimes there is simply not enough salt, uneventful ingredients, etc. Thankfully this quiche from Marche did not dissapoint. Goat cheese, bacon, and spinach worked well together and impressed me.
I did not touch those beets though. Call me a 7 year old, I don’t care. I think beets taste like dirt. They are pretty though, I will give them that.

Marche Artisian Foods

Marche could easily be my favorite local restaurant.
I am lucky to live about 5 blocks away, and also lucky that their brunch and lunch fare is always delightfully creative, delicious, and affordable.
Roasted summer tomatoes atop Sawmill grits paired with a lemon vinaigrette dressed bitter green salad.

Avocado

Avocado is one of my favorite foods. This yummy egg scramble from Crepevine was only complete when topped with these bright and beautiful avocado slices.
Also mixed into my eggy dream was: goatcheese, tomatoes, spinach, and baby portobella mushrooms.
I didn’t even have room for my sesame bagel after consuming this hearty and omega-3 loaded power scramble.
Oh well. I ate it with some raspberry jam later on the subway!
